A very commonly asked question……What’s the difference between a christening and a baptism?
Nothing is the answer! During a christening your child will be baptised with water. It’s the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family.
We are delighted that you would like to think about having your child baptised. The service of baptism allows us an opportunity to share in the joy of the gift of children and to thank God at the start of their lives.
At St Mary’s our baptisms happen either in a 10.30am service when you, your family and friends will join with the members of the St Mary’s congregation in celebrating your child becoming a member of God’s family or at 12.30pm in a shorter service outside of our main service.
Please contact the Parish Office on 01296 623123 or firstname.lastname@example.org with your request to arrange a baptism and we will do all we can to make your child’s baptism happen. As part of the preparation you will receive a visit from someone from church.
