Flower Festival 2015

St Mary’s Celebrating 800 years since Magna Carta in flowers and music

Saturday 2, Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May 2015

The St Mary’s 2015 flower festival takes place on the May Bank Holiday weekend Saturday 2 May, Sunday 3 May and Monday 4 May.   Opening at 10.00am on Saturday and Monday; at 12 noon on Sunday after the regular services.dreamstime_m_17058256

The church will be gloriously decorated with flower arrangements and displays, created by local people and groups, depicting various points in the history and community of Wendover over the last 800 years. Wendover has connections with King John, famous for signing the Magna Carta, as he issued the charter in 1214 allowing the village to hold an annual market.

Lindengate, the local charity offering therapeutic gardening activities to help people with mental health needs, will be partnering with St Mary’s to provide a plant stall and information about their projects.

Throughout the weekend, there will be music including visiting performers from Aylesbury Music Centre and Wing Choir as well as St Mary’s own talented Music Group. There will be refreshments served through out the weekend, with a BBQ on Saturday, a famous King’s Farm Shop hog roast on Sunday and a ploughman’s style lunch on Monday.

The full colour souvenir programme (£2 each) is available from the St Mary’s church shop, 11 High Street, Wendover and at various events during April.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Festival.
